Some S'poreans want the features of Korean and Japanese stars, say plastic surgeons

LOOK east, it seems.
When it comes to the ideal face, Singaporeans are looking to Korean and Japanese stars for inspiration.
Plastic surgeons here said it is common for clients to request for modifications or enhancements based on the features these stars have.
One man, for instance, recently had his jaw contoured at plastic surgeon Ivor Lim's clinic to achieve Korean singer Rain's chiselled look.
Japanese-Taiwanese actor Takeshi Kaneshiro's almond-shaped eyes are also in demand, said Dr Colin Tham, director of aesthetics at AHP Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery.
Local celebrities, however, are less modelled-after, although actress Fann Wong's eyes and cheekbones have a following.
